Annual Halloween Parade

70th Annual  Halloween Parade

This Year's Theme is Animals

On October 27th, The Woburn Host Lions will present the 70th Annual Halloween Parade. What we started as a gathering for the children of Woburn, marching in their costumes, has become one of the largest parades in Massachusetts. More than 30,000 smiles and costumes will line Woburn’s Main Street from route 128 to the Winchester line. The week before, October 20th , children, walkers, and runners will participate in our 13th annual Monster Dash, a costume fun run.

The donations from businesses like yours help to cover the cost of the parade and road races and allows the Woburn Host Lions to raise funds to support Massachusetts Lions Eye Research and many other local charitable organizations that are listed on the opposite side of this letter.

We know you are asked frequently for donations from many others, but we are hoping you will find our two premier events a worthy cause. We are happy to accept donations in any amount and there are special opportunities to donate and be recognized during and after our events.

The Woburn Host Lions Charities, Inc. is a 501© (3) public charities organization, and your donation is tax- deductible. So, please make your donation payable to: Woburn Host Lions Charities, Inc. and mail to P.O. Box 81 Woburn, MA 01801, or you can donate online.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

John Serson, President
Frank DiMauro, Monster Dash Committee Chairman
Leo Thifault, Parade Committee Chairman

We are grateful for your support.  Please donate.

Parade Sunday

Mission Statement

The Woburn Host Lions Parade is for the enjoyment of the families and children of Woburn and surrounding communities while collecting funds the charities of the club.

The last Sunday in October is traditionally "Parade Sunday" in the City of Woburn. Over 80,000 people join together along Main Street to cheer the many fine bands, wave to the floats, catch up with old friends and celebrate the true spirit of Halloween. For a small town "Home Coming Day" feeling this is one fall event in New England that you don't want to miss out on.

Dress up your ghosts, goblins, Spidermen and princesses to join us at 1 o'clock, come rain or shine, on Main Street, Woburn. Arrive early to get a curbside view. Parade route starts at Crowne Plaza/Showcase Cinema travelling south on Main St to Woburn Center continuing onto Lake Ave at the Winchester line ending at Horn pond. The parade route is 2.2 miles long and normally takes just about 1.5 hours to walk the route end-to-end.

Please remember that our Lions Club utilizes this parade to raise money for the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund. Your generous donations, large or small, are most welcome.
