Lions Club InternationalThe Woburn Host Lions Club is a local club devoted to serving our community. At the same time, it is part of an international organization, Lions Clubs International (LCI), which serves the global community. The charitable and civic work of LCI is accomplished through, and funded by, the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF). The foundation exists solely through the generous contributions of individual Lions throughout the world, local Lions Clubs, charitable minded corporations and individuals world-wide who seek to support the work of the Foundation.
In June of 2018, the Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) celebrated its 50th anniversary. Over the course of those 50 years, the foundation made an enormous impact on so many local and global projects and initiatives. Through the awarding of over $1 billion in grants, Lions have saved the sight of 9.1 million people through cataract surgeries. We’ve improved the lives of over 16 million children with the positive life skills taught in the Lions Quest program. We’ve been there for our neighbors, and communities around the world, when disaster has struck, awarding over $118 million in disaster relief. We’ve supported the vaccination of millions of children from measles, saving countless lives. LCIF’s mission is to empower Lions service. With the expansion of the Global Causes, LCIF recognizes the need to do something extraordinary to make this possible.
