Annual Halloween Parade

We regret to inform you that we are canceling the Halloween Parade and the Monster Dash road race. This decision is due to public health and safety concerns due to the Covid-19 virus. For our club, these cancellations are devastating to our fundraising efforts. These two community gatherings are the Woburn Host Lions Club's main fundraising events from which we raise revenue, mainly by collecting money on parade day down the route and from people and companies donating towards the two events. These funds go towards all our local charities we support, including Lions Eye Research.

2020 has been a trying year for us all and the limit of persons allowed in gatherings has greatly impacted our weekly meetings and fundraising abilities. Every day it seems like it is getting more unpredictable and confusing as we all experience life living with this virus. But can you imagine what life would be like if you were visually impaired? Many of the services you would rely on would be affected due to lack of fundraising. Now more than ever you would need those organizations such as the Woburn Host Lions Club.

We understand it is a difficult time to donate, but if you can find a way to help our charitable organization, we would be truly grateful for your support. Any amount would be appreciated.

We are grateful for your support.  Please donate.

Thank you for your consideration and please know that we will miss the parade and Monster Dash this year as much as you will. See you next year.

Parade Sunday

Mission Statement

The Woburn Host Lions Parade is for the enjoyment of the families and children of Woburn and surrounding communities while collecting funds the charities of the club.

The last Sunday in October is traditionally "Parade Sunday" in the City of Woburn. Over 80,000 people join together along Main Street to cheer the many fine bands, wave to the floats, catch up with old friends and celebrate the true spirit of Halloween. For a small town "Home Coming Day" feeling this is one fall event in New England that you don't want to miss out on.

Dress up your ghosts, goblins, Spidermen and princesses to join us at 1 o'clock, come rain or shine, on Main Street, Woburn. Arrive early to get a curbside view. Parade route starts at Crowne Plaza/Showcase Cinema travelling south on Main St to Woburn Center continuing onto Lake Ave at the Winchester line ending at Horn pond. The parade route is 2.2 miles long and normally takes just about 1.5 hours to walk the route end-to-end.

Please remember that our Lions Club utilizes this parade to raise money for the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund. Your generous donations, large or small, are most welcome.
